I find this a very disturbing case. Drowning her children was atrocious but personally I think she is and was a very disturbed person and did not commit this act knowing the very depth of what she was doing.

I feel the medical profession and her husband failed her. Were they wearing blinders? There were so many warning signals and that weird religious relationship they had. This whole thing is such a tragedy. The children paid the ultimate price.

No I do not believe she should be free but she needs to be treated (probably in a Mental Institution) for the rest of her life.

I'd be interested to know others opinion of this case. I find it very disturbing but my opinion may be wrong and maybe someone out there can put this in perspective for me.

From day one I said her doctors and husband were the real criminals. That poor woman had post pardom depression after each child and it just got worse after each birth. Where was her family ? Why didn't anyone help her? Each and everyone of them played a part in this tragedy...There is no way they couldn't see this.I hope God is with her and spares her prison, she already lives in her own prison

No matter what sate your in you know your children and you do everything you can to protect them. What would the medical professionals do? just some one Else to blame. Personal accountability needs to come into play, you harm someone you pay no matter what

I agree with you. Andrea Yates is and will always be a very disturbed individual. No punishment she gets will ever fit her crime.
