Skip the iodine and use it to lay out and get a tan.

Well, there are a million different ways to skin the cat so to speak. Years ago when I met my wife she used to buy a bottle of baby oil, add enough iodine to tint the oil slightly orange. Not a clue how much that was. I think the iodine was used to create a staining effect more then intensify the tanning qualities of the lotion. Even some of the commercial lotions have touched on this "Staining" with the addition of carrot extract to there products. Lately I've been using high quality coconut oil available at health food stores, seems to work well. In today's world of sunscreens all of these recipes lack any protection from UV rays so be heads up.... Realize I didn't give you an amount but as with most "Homemade" things its trail and error.
