I have been bit by a flea and it itches like crazy. Is there something I can make here at home to stop the itching or do I have to go to the store and by something? I have sprayed my house and I have flea bathed my cat but I still got bite. Is there anything short of just giving my cat away. She goes in and out she will not have it one way or the other.

Apply some honey to the spot or still, handcuff yourself to a pole to resist scratching.

Being an animal lover myself I understand your concern. Here is some of the things that I do to help control flea's in my house. For one I make sure that I treat my pets for the fleas. Also, if you happen to have carpet in the house and have a vacuum cleaner that uses a bag you can do this and it has been really helpful for me to keep fleas and other pest out of my house.

Take the bag of the vacuum cleaner and drop two to three month balls into it and vacuum the house. Also, if you happen to have hard wood floors you can take odd socks and place some moth balls in it and tie the end. Throw it under your furniture or stuffed down in your couch and stuff.

Be aware though if you use to many of these your house can smell somewhat like month balls for a while until you are able to get the flea problem under control.

For the flea bites this is something that I do with my daughter for she is sensitive to pretty much all insect bites. I keep Benedryl. We moved into a house that was severely infested with fleas. They liked to have drove us crazy from all the bites. I did this, keep in mind that I did not have carpet in the house and had nothing but hardwood floors or tile throughout the house. These suggestions really helped us.

there is something of a remedy that i know, to keep fleas away from your cat, and therefore you. when you feed your cat, put a pinch or two of garlic powder in its food, and it keeps the little suckers away. it takes a few days for them to go away, but it really helps.

There are over the counter remedies that work. Dr. Gold's Itch relief spray works well. Ask your local pet supplier.
