They look like black spots, and now they are scabbing. She's up to date on heart worm and her Flea meds (K9 Advantix). She's at the vet right now getting spayed, but any idea what it could be?

SHE IS AT THE VET GETTING SPAYED AND THEY ARE LOOKING AT THE SPOTS. I just wanted to see if anyone had an idea of what it was.

We boarded her while we were on vacation because we didn't have anyone to take care of her while we are out of state.

I have a 2.5 year old lab and he has a very similar problem. My dog gets these spots on his stomach area quite often. My dog has pretty bad food allergies, so I assume it is the allergies or perhaps just the surface he is lying on irritating him. Like said above though it is always best to ask your vet, your vet may even notice them and tell you if your dog is there already.

sounds like some sort of mange. Why did you get a pup from kennels? its not the right environment for a pup to be raised. I would never get a pup from kennels, no matter how healthy the dogs seem. Its practically a written law as there is the possibility of it being a puppy farm. No doubt it is something she picked up while there. You should have looked for this sort of thing before you picked her.Its a sign of bad hygeine and indecent conditions

Pound pups are a real pain in the ****. You don't know what they have been exposed to . Just ask the vet to check her over, and make it a ritual to inspect her inch by inch every now and then so you can catch any problems she may come up with. Like dry skin, soreness in her joints, foggy eyes, ear mites, and so on, good luck, and hope she doesn't get locked up again! And if you put her in a Kennel DONT DO IT AGAIN! find a family member to babysit your baby.

OK, is it just me, or does anyone else think that the spay should have waited until they knew what the rash they are cutting threw was known ?

My guess..."Puppy Pimples"! Very common, like teenage acne, goes away on its own or with cream. That's the only thing I can think of that would leave black spots instead of red.
