Fact is, they shouldn't be the same but for many Americans they are. At the beginning of the Iraq war, for instance, and probably now, there were thousands of people saying that Americans must support the war because God set up the government that decided to terrorize Iraq. There are thousands more who believe that America is rich because God has blessed it, and that poor countries are poor because they do not believe in God. Legalism in church doctrine can be considered to be directly related to the extensive legal system of America.

For these and other reasons, I believe that for many people, being a Christian and being American are one and the same.

White Christian Americans thought for a long time that they were the only "real" Christians. They formed a group and wore white cloaks with hoods. Some got to wear a red cloak. I like that type of Christianity. It teaches us a lot about these American Christians.

Guy was a bit lost. Being a Christian is much more important than being an American and of course there are more christians outside of the US than inside if I have the stats correct.

No, definitely not. One has nothing to do with the other actually. There are millions of people that are born in other countries that have discovered Christ, so how can being American and Christian be one and the same?

I think it's a load of rubbish. What happened to everyone's own identity? If there are a lot of people who are like the one who answered that I do not want to go to America.

But I've leant mate, don't touch the religion topic, or you'll get shot down in flames.

No., being a Christian means following the Laws of God and not turning on Him. If you haven't noticed American has been turning her back of Jesus for years and is doing so more and more each day. God Have Mercy On Us.

She is just repeating what Daddy Bush said in 1987.

Bush: "No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God."

I can't imagine why an atheist and veteran of the US Army would consider Christians to be the enemy.
