We all know that lack of oxygen to the brain means we start losing brain cells. The human brain can go without oxygen for a couple of minutes until irrevesable brain damage.

Bears can release some kind of fluid into their brain which somehow strengthens it as when they hibernate they go hours or days without breathing. They're almost dead for the whole winter.

I think that's amazing.
