I believe that there has been several cures found already, but if the AMA were to use them they would be out of a job.

Let's talk about one type of cancer. Say brain cancer, affects about 3% of all new cancer inductions.

We have no idea what is the cause. There is much speculative evidence implying things(genetics, diet, cell phones) however a causative link can't be established.

Then, we look at the induction pathway. 80-90% of the time it follows the known and prescribed pathway however not all the time so this implies we don't know what the truth is.

Finally, treatment. We're killing tissue with the hopes that the cancer cells are more sensitive when compared to normal tissue. If not, we're going to kill the normal brain and not just the brain tumor tissue.

My point is that cancer is a very severe yet generic term implying overgrowth of cells. We've made a great deal of progress in certain forms of cancer which is nothing to snarf at. However, as a whole, we're at least 20 years off from eliminating cancer from our vernacular.

I believe it is still at least 20 years away unfortunately. There are so many types of cancer with so many different types of treatment. The only real key is early detection. I lost a daughter to cancer 10 years ago, she had a type of cancer called neuroblastoma. When she was diagnosed she was a stage 4 with a 30 percent chance of survival. Today, the survial rate for that type of cancer is still at 30 percent. A part of me believes that there is so much money to be made in cancer treatment that that is why they havent found a cure. ( I know that sounds terrible, but, with technology today, one would think that a cure would have been found by now, right??!!).

Hard to say. There is plenty of research going on all the time, but it is a huge challenge for Medicine and the human race.
There are also so many different types of cancer that it is likely that we will one day have a cure for one or some, but not for all of the varieties.

In this day and age of technology there should have been a cure found. I don't think they want to find a cure and if they have found one will not let us know. Cancer patients spend billions and billions of dollars on medications and treatments. Do you honestly think the pharmaceutical companies really want to lose that revenue?

there are cures, but this country is funded by oil and the pharmaceutical industries so it will probably never be made public because it won't make people as much money. :( It's sad...
