I mean why do they do it at all. Why do they want to get drunk? Is life so awful that it makes them just want to do something like that?

Because it is a choice that I am glad to have. If someone doesn't want to drink, fine. I enjoy beer, I enjoy wine, I enjoy vodka. Drinking is part of our society. Hooray for alcohol!

I personally never drink to avoid a problem,it doesn't help. When I drink it's for fun,it helps relax you and as long as you know your limit there's no problem, it's when alcohol becomes a big part of your life that the trouble starts. I've seen what alcohol can do when it takes over,and it's not a pretty sight, so when I drink,the second the room starts spinning, I go on to water until I sober up abit.
I'm not a saint,I've been so drunk,I could hardly stand before,but I'm older now and i have priorities,so drinking is more of a bonding thing than anything else, I don't need drink to have fun.

Once I drank a few wine coolers and I got a headache! I didn't feel very good. And I felt awful what I done so I decided that I will never drink again. It just isn't worth it! Alcohol is just way to overrated! I don't know what the big deal is, except it really can get dangerous!

to escape reality . Alcohol is truth serum. So sometimes a person doesnt drink normally but gets pressured in to it not knowing the person(s) influencing this action is trying to see what the person is like. Another reason is after a while you become addicted you cant go with out. Now days people drink for social standard to be with the cool gang. But mainly to hide something or someone. If a person doesnt want to confront another individual out of fear they drink to put the mask on. ie male asking a very attractive female out. as for the something part . ie long hours at work ,hateful slavedriver of a boss, and a bitter spouse at home so to avoid putting up with that drink until alcohol puts them aside or erases them depending how much to drink.

because some people on this site rnt uptight lilke most of the others ansering this question and like 2 hav a good time some time i'm not an acholholic and nwither r most but just cuz we drink somtimes dosnt mean were bad were just not lil oody goodys like the others who answered this question.

Well, I drink socially, not to get drunk, just a bit tipsy and loosen up. I can be kind of shy.

I drink once in a great while just to loosen up and let go of the days problems.I think it's fun to act goofy sometimes.

Because ppl have enjoyed stimulates since they first appeared on earth. Everyone does it for different reasons. But what fun is it to be responsible, work hard and do everything your supposed to if you cant *** up once in a while?

Well unfortunatley, people like me use it as a crutch. My fiance is in Iraq right now and I have a really hard sleeping. It helps me go to sleep.
