one man says on the interview
"I said, a little aghast, , saying, really? Well, that's nice, I just, but good. Negotiate. Which meant two cents, actually, no I don’t know what it was, but I was very happy to do it.

■question2■
In this context "flash" means
"showing" or "look nice" ?
"directors flash." means "have talent"??

"And they're good with the AVID and all and very flashy. Sometimes, they become very, very good editors. Other times, they just flash. And some directors flash"

Please help me with these!!!
Thak you

#1 - I think the "two cents" is referring to a common saying "That's my two cents' worth," meaning basically "that's what I think, take it or leave it."

#2 - I think "flash" is referring to a common saying "flash in the pan," meaning someone who looks like they would have made it to the "big time" (in whatever field they are in - acting, writing), but instead fizzled out (much like having "15 minutes of fame").

Hope this helps!

I do not quite understand the "interview" story, but usually a person giving their "2 cents worth" means adding an opinion to a subject that has been talked about for awhile. The person adding their opinion knows they are not contributing anything new, just an effort to share their thoughts and give a small added value to a side.

Your second question I believe is concerning the meaning of "flashy." Showing is good, but showy like to draw attention to oneself. Neon lighting and gold lame clothing are flashy. A big sparkly diamond ring is flashy
A car's turn signals flash on and off. When the car is signaling to turn but keeps going forward- "they just flash." But when the car signals, then turns it is like "becoming very good editors."

- Directors have to be good to get people to do what they want. "Some directors flash" means they are not as good at directing as they should be.

it meant to add ones opinion or input..."I offered my two cents as well" i gave my opinion, also.

flash was used as slang in that context..flash had double meaning in that sentence: flashy, the good editors = did well, but second part of sentence referred to flash in the sense of burned out, failed, it's a term from photography referring to the flash pan of a antiquated camera, burned very brightly but also very quickly.. and some directors flash = they burned bright, briefly, but ultimately burned out just as quick

I think it means to give someone your honest opinion. I am going to give him my 2 cents worth.

Flash I think means to look in a way that you stand out. You look really flashy in that outfit.

Putting in 'our two cents worth' means our opinion.
