It is really quite sad that Islam is misunderstood in the west, if it is, why don't these people study more about it like they do in America, and well of course those people actually end up becoming muslim, so think twice! My question is if Islam is (what you people might think) violent, evil, cruel, then why do so many people become Muslim after studying the truth...what do you think? Check out this site, you'll ve suprised to see how many people have converted to islam from christianity and what they think about it:

www.turntoislam.com

i mean come on, lets face it, nobody turns to hinduism (haha) and only a minority turn to christianity, and i think everyone has the freedon to choose their faith, and its usually islam which is picked.

I agree with (smoothsophie) the islam not that violent (there is some red lines the muslim can not cross it) - it long story -... but what you see and read about it is the ugly face of radical ... most of them are friendly (i mean the normal muslim) the problem is with the (waha-ab) they are the newest part (confession) in islam religion (2 or 3 hundreds years ago) and they kill any one dis-agree with them, I think because they are Bedouins and very very close-minded but the problem they have the money (oil) and that make them take control on the media.

For those who say that Islam is a religion of peace and radicals make look like evil, listen up:

“Verily those who disbelieve in the religion of Islam, the Quran, and prophet Muhammad from among the people of the scripture (jews and Christians) will abide in hell. They are the worst of Creatures.” (Quran 98:6)

“But those who disbelieve in our Quran, the fire will be shut over them.” (Quran 90:19,20)

“I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.” (Quran 8:12)

“Let not the believers take for friends or helpers unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah.” (Quran 3:28) i.e don’t take a friend who is not Muslim, very friendly religion, eh!

“And never will Allah grant to the unbelievers a way to triumph over the believers.” (Quran 4:141)

“Fight them, and Allah will punish them by your hands, cover them with shame, help you to victory over them, and heal the breasts of believers.” (Quran 9:14)

“And slay them wherever ye catch them.” (Quran 2:191)

“And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression.” (Quran 2:193)

I believe that those are clear commands that prompt Muslims to crush non Muslims and God promised Muslims with every kind of help. Radicals are simply Muslims who follow Islam. If u r a Muslim who dont follow, u r not technically a Muslim. These teachings that I mentioned earlier are for every age and era, ie they were not for a specific time and Muslims still have to abide and follow. Now, I bet that many of u Muslims haven't heard about those verses b4. Thats because u were either born Muslim and defend Islam blindly or when u converted to islam the ugly face wasn't revealed to u. Ladies and gentlmen, Islam is like dormant inactive pathogen which is waiting till as much people are infected, then it will activate. The ugly face will not be revealed to u but to ur offspring who will not have any other choice but to follow and excute.
There 2 ways to keep the ugly face away form u:
1. Keeping Qoran in Arabic format which u cant read. Although there are some English and French translations out there, they still are not certified and I myself found mistakes in translation as I know Arabic.
2. Showing u a couple of nice peaceful verses of Qoran that might show a peaceful religion, but u dont know the secret. The secret is called "Al-Nasekh Wal-Mansoukh" which means that all the peaceful verses in Qoran were replaced by war and violent commands upon God's orders. Haha, they fool u. This peace of fact will be told to ur offspring, not u.

Fianlly, be aware cuz the dormant inactive pathogen seems lovely and unharmful. Don't be fooled and read history. Find out how the Muslim armies invaded Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, India, Iran, Lybia, etc. Moreover, how they changed their languages, it takes a lot of brutality to change a nation's language. Please, read and research. Ask ur bi-linguals to translate the Arabic bloody history because Arabs don't have the guts to translate their history books because they are bloody.

So true, I am a christian and I think Islam is a beatiful religion. As for meI was raised catholic and i remain one, Its a personal choice. I think some phrases in the Quran are misconstrued or misunderstood. the meaning varies because there is a variety of people.

The above words quoted by you state that you dont have any respect for other religions. If this is the character of someone following Islam then I am happy that I dont belong to such a religion.

I studied it and found it was not as you say.. a religion of peace....many are being decieved by the way they try to present the muslim faith....if the truth were known ..many would walk away from it...BTW....if you don't follow it to a "T" you are an infidel..so tell me...when do you plan on doing your part to rid the wolrd of infidels..and why do so many muslims hate christians and consatntly try to slam them for believing what they know to be truth ??? that's not love by a long shot...so there goes your try at getting people to believe what you say to be true...it's not....

I don't think it is a violent religion....just the extreamist that make it seem that way. I don't agree with everything they teach.....I don't think they treat thier women right but as for the violent part I think that's just terroists.
From what I know about it (which is not much)
it seems to be peacful (except for the not treating women right thing)

Islam is indeed evil, cruel and violent. Muslim do not have choice nor right to find the truth about it.
It's a religion that was established by force, maintained by means of punishment and imposture.
It is moreover, manipulating the truth with lies and intentional manipulations of facts.
It is a man-created religion, who took parts of bible and modify them to suit his case.

It will give me much pleasure to discuss further with anyone who want, provided that he / she is a person that will listen and certainly express views.

No Muslims are not evil, you're talking about "radicals" and they exist in all cultures and walks of life. they're everywhere and they do harm wherever they go, so dont put every Muslim in the same bag, thats just plain silly
