Why do either have to be true? Why does thought predate existence? (it doesn't). The Big Bang Theory was created by a Catholic Monk. This is why the Catholic Church is comfy with the big bang. Think about this proposition? The normal state of things is existence. It has always existed. If this was not the case, existence would not be possible at all. Thought is a by-product of existence. Universal Conciousness, while awesome, is itself a by-product of material existence and is just the sum total of all conciousness. Evolution is a flawed, linear idealism and does not explain the greater mysteries of our existence, such as the megaltihic ruins. Why is it mandatory for things to be created or evolve? Space is not a void which contracts and expands, it is a limitless ocean with tides and is full of life. Infinity has no beginning nor end. Some things just are. It's actually not that hard to comprehend, just hard to digest and accept. Accept the truth and avoid petty religious squabbles.

Hi, this is a very lengthy discussion to get into. I'll only tell you a few important things. You could believe whatever you want, no ones forcing you to believe in anything. However, if your asking this question that might mean that you want to know what to believe in and why. First of all, I agree with you that there is no such thing as evolution. My religion does believe that there was a Creator that created this world. You seem to be confused about this whole existence thing. Well, I'll tell you that at this time we might not understand everything. But there will come a point where everything will be clear again. It's hard to understand what the world could have been like without existence- before it was created. It's to complicated to delve into. I'll give you an example to help illustrate a point I will try to make. Ex: you see a circle on a blackboard, how did it get there? did it draw itself? a circle is limited so couldn't have drawn itself. If this is the case then there had to be someone who created it. Well you could say you drew it but then humans are unlimited so somebody had to create them also. It all comes to a supreme being that is unlimited that has created this world and the people on it.
I hope this helped somewhat!

The Greeks originally believed in the eternal existence of all things. It's a very old idea. It's just that science seems to point to a universe with a beginning, hence the two popular explanations you mention.

Your philosophy is a little ill-considered though. You are making some common-sense reasoning that is not necessarily true. Just because we experience existence as the normal state doesn't mean that this is necessarily the case. Nietzsche, for example, suggested that there may be no such thing as independent existence, but only Thought producing the illusion of existence.

How cute. I cannot recall one sentence in evolutionary theory that talks about the Big Bang, or the "megalithic ruins". No one on the evolutionary side of the argument is arguing perfection. Simply the idea that living things have an amazing capability of adapting to survive. So what you're saying is that existence is existence and without existence we wouldn't exist. You really need to get into politics where talking in circles would at least offer some financial reward.

If you don't believe in either then good for you!!!!
I hope you find that your looking for oneday.

Creation or evolution are not solid facts, there theories on how life as we know it was formed. Like all theories there just theories until there is some real physical proof to back it up, until then there as good a theory that the univerise is just a piece of mold growing on a muti-verseial piece of cheese.

If there was no evolution, you would be still a monkey, You would not have been using the computer, mobile, TV, and et., all, if there were no inventions / evolutions. How do you explain all these things? You say all things are existing, then why one would not be using all the said things a 100 years ago.

All you can do is point to the truth. At least people who believe in Evolution begin with a blank slate, and based on their findings, develop a theory based on what they find. Many times it is faulty, and brings up more questions than it answers, but it is based on findings that can be measured. On the other hand, it is preposterous to think that somehow history is written, and that any archaeological finding must fit what is already written.

Heh heh...

You had me going there for a while. I thought that maybe you actually had an interesting idea there, until your last line.

Accept the truth and avoid petty religious squabbles.

So you want everyone to accept YOUR truth. Nothing more than a secular humanst cult leader.

Sorry. Accept the truth, Tim.

My answer. From evening to morning to evening is one day. Six days later Job done. Is that enough time for Evolution to work.
If your not buying the bible then don't bother with creation I ask you this.
How did the earth come about? Where did that come from? And where did that come from? And where did that come from? And where did that come from? And where did that come from? And where did that come from? And where did that come from? And where did that come from? And where did that come from? And where did that come from? And so on till there has to be creation at some point. So whats the problem with the 6 days. Or is it you just can't handle the truth. Good luck and God bless.

Just live life, I believe in both I just don't care about the little detail as how I came to be and who is god. I say don't believe in religion just have faith (higher power or in a god) and just live a good life. Don't worry about things you will never known the answer to. We all known the different between right and wrong. And we are here now so why worry about how we came to be. Let it be.
