Just wondering what you all think. I have a son at school and I have ask the head teacher if she could get his teacher to put sun cream in his HAND so he can then apply it to his face and the answer I got was no. I ask why and she said the teachers are not allowed to rub it on the child. But as i stated "IN HIS HAND".
Do you think the teacher should be able to put a small amount into his hand for him to apply?
Please think about this and let me know your feels about this. Thank you

Put it in writing, and ask for a written reply stating why your teacher cannot offer your son sun cream on his hands to apply himself. Don't accept an answer by telephone, insist on their answer being sent to you in writing, if necessary by having a lawyer ask for it.

Point out that they are in loco parentis and are responsible for your child's being prevented from getting sunburnt. Hint that you might have to ask a lawyer what the consequences would be if your son suffered sunburn or sunstroke.

Are they considering this a drug? Do they have regulations on drugs in school? At our school the kids have to have any medications registered with the nurse and several forms from doctors and parents on file before they can even be given Tylenol.

Do you have a nurse at the school? Ask the nurse what the procedure should be? Maybe even get a note from your pediatrician about the need for sunscreen, and that your child needs assistance with this.
