This is happening to someone I know, her water broke a week and a half ago and she is only 33 weeks. The docs want to wait til she is at least 34 weeks. She is on meds for infection. I just wanted to know if she would last that long being 4 cm's and not have to have the baby sooner if actually goes into "labor".

hours but i don't think they want you like too long because the longer the baby is in there after your water is broken the more dangerous it becomes for the child.if you lose too much fluid and baby is still not here then they will start to replace what you have lost so the baby will be safer

You don't need to be on medication. Go natural, it's easier. If you are on medication, and it's pitocin, your labor will be quicker but much more painful. I went from water breaking at 0cms to giving birth in 5.5 hours.

They don't let you got too long due to infection. I think it is 12 hours.
