you find fossil records of dinasaurs because the dinosaurs did actually REALLY exist

It doesn't have to specifically state in the bible that there were no dinosaurs; it is implied, BECAUSE there is no mention in the Bible that they actually existed....

I can't believe that at this stage of man's development, we still let a storybook published over 500 years ago, based on stories 2000 years old, determine the way we should live, much less, force others to try to believe that that's the way the Earth was created.

If the Bible was held up to the half the scrutiny as Darwin has these last few years it would have been trashed as a theory because it has no basis on fact and cannot measure the progress made as to how the Earth was created.

Did God create man, or did man create God?

The Bible has descriptions of dinosaurs - the Behemoth and Leviathan. Eye-witness accounts by Job.

We find them in the fossil record because the Global Flood buried billions of animals in sediment. To fossilise a dinosaur (or even a small animal for that matter) you have to bury it very quickly.

The fossil record supports creationist beliefs, and is a severe challenge to evolutionists - the fossil record does not show evolution, it shows that animals in the past are the same now (or extinct).

You don't have to ditch the Bible, well, not the New Testament at least. Science and religion aren't opposites. Only, one is based upon faith while the other is the result of carefull observation and experimenting. Just forget about the little stories in religious books and take them for what's important - love, respect, solidarity, all that. The people who wrote the Bible couldn't have known about dinossaurs when they wrote it. I guess that makes you see the Bible couldn't have been inspired by God. But there may still be a God. Think about budhism, though... Loads of great teachings there, and no gobbledigook stories that make you wonder if anything's worthwhile in spirituality. Budhists don't even speak of a God. Ok, there may still be a God. Nothing guarantees he's (it's) aware of us, though. So what? Everything in the universe, from the mildest rock to the most developed being somewhere in the universe has value, everything's the same. Stop centering the universe around man (not God, really) and you may become more spiritual/religious in a way that you'll be able to learn something positive for you and others fom it.

It's not known if everything that Bible says is right. Bible was written long back after Christ died. That's why there are many defects about his stories. Also, people have only speculated about the world in the Bible at the time when it was written. There is no solid proof if everything Bible says is right. The fossils we find are just not marks of dinosaurs but real bones as well. These bones were preserved by natural processes. That's why it's proved that Dinosaurs existed.

Because the Bible was written by men, not by God and at a time when men did not know of the existence of dinsosaurs.

The Bible should be viewed as an attempt by man to understand his place in the universe - whether it was written under the inspiration of God or by well-meaning and honest men acting alone is a matter of faith and opinion. [some may even argue that it was devised as, or has since been used as, a means of creating a religion through which greedy and dishonest men could control the thoughts and actions of others].

Remember - if God exists he understands the universe because he created it, the Bible would therefore represent either a human interpretation or God's choice of what to tell us (just as we wouldn't go into every detail on a subject when teaching a small child, it could be viewed that God gave us enough information to start us off and let us find out the rest for ourselves - whats to stop God keeping dinosaurs a secret so we learn to THINK for ourselves?).

The fact that the Bible does not mention dinosaurs does not prove or disprove the existence of God, nor does it prove or disprove the existence of evolution or creation.
Evolution could quite easily be pictured as occurring under the "guidance or supervision" of God without the creationists suffering from raised blood pressure.
In a similar way, the creation of life from inanimate chemicals as the first step towards evolution has been demonstrated as something which could occur quite naturally - but if you choose to believe that God created the chemicals so that they would do that in the first place then both creation and evolution can sit side-by-side quite happily. Similary, the evolution of one life form into another could be viewed as "creation" of that new life form.
Even the strict "creation in seven days" thing can be interepreted differently if people would only open their minds - who's to say that one of God's days isn't a different length to one of man's?

None of the above however can stop the simple truth that evolution is a FACT, demonstrated by observation and study while creation is a belief founded largely on a book written thousands of years ago by fallible humans. However that does not mean that the two are entirely incompatible with each other. Only the fanatics who view every word in the Bible as absolute fact (from a human context) have problems with this - so how they deal with four different versions of Jesus' life in the New Testament as all being true is beyond me but thats the problem with religions in general - call it a religion and all questioning is immediately stifled as being somehow heretical.

The bible doesnt say there were no dinosaurs - this word is a modern word meaning great lizard. There is no reason to say the bible is wrong because of fossil evidence - the bible is written for the heart of man, and science for the mind. And at some point in the future, both the heart and the mind may find unity.

The reason dinosaurs arent mentioned in the bible is because the guy who wrote it didnt know they existed, because fossils of their bones hadnt been discovered yet. Religious people will avoid directly answering your question because they have to have tunnel vision to believe in creationism. The real question here is why dont religious people quit making excuses as to why they arent mentioned in the bible (how stupid to think creatures that large and fantastic wouldnt be mentioned) and accept that the bible is a book with good examples to follow but wholly fictional. WHy cant religious people just admit they are wrong and live by the example of the bible without being so blind to the scientific proof around them. I mean just because god is fictional doesnt mean you cant live by his beliefs as written in the bible. You can still believe while admitting that your beliefs are based in fiction. As far as I know there never was such thing as a Unicorn but I still imagine that they are real and I like to believe they are or were real.

WHERE IN THE WORLD DID YOU EVER HEAR THAT THE HOLY BIBLE SAID THERE WERE NO DINOSAURS?? IF YOU ARE AN AGNOSTIC THAT DOESN,T MEAN YOU CAN,T READ AND LEARN!! THE SCRIPTURES DON,T SPECIFICALLY MENTION THESE CREATURES THAT GOD CREATED PRIOR TO THE CREATION OF HUMANS BUT IT DOES SAY IN GENESIS THAT HE CREATED GREAT LAND AND SEA CREATURES ON THE LATTER CREATIVE DAYS.. THE WORD DINOSAUR ISN,T IN THE BIBLE BUT THE CREATION ACCOUNT IS AND IT INCOMPASSES ALL THE CREATURES INCLUDING MAN THAT GOD MADE, GREAT AND SMALL... READ VARIOUS TRANSLATIONS OF GENESIS TO GET A FULL PICTURE OF THE CREATION ACCOUNT IN OUR ENGLISH LANGUAGE SO THAT YOUR FAITH WILL BE RESTORED... THERE IS A GREAT CREATOR, JUST LOOK AROUND YOU AND OBSERVE THE MIND BOGGLING DETAIL OF NATURE AND THE UNIVERSE AND THEN USE REASON TO DETERMINE THAT ALL THIS COULD NOT HAVE COME ABOUT BY CHANCE OR ACCIDENT!!! AS A SIMPLE HOUSE NEEDS A BUILDER TO PLAN AND CONSTRUCT IT SO THE WORLD AND THE UNIVERSE NEEDED THE SAME FOR IT TO COME INTO EXISTENCE... AS THE BIBLE SAYS, " he who constructed all things is GOD.".. GIVE YOURSELF A CHANCE AND LET REASON RULE YOUR THINKING PROCESSES, IT WILL CLEAR UP A LOT OF ISSUES FOR YOU... THANKS FOR LISTENING, JOHN MEYER

Read Job 40:15-24

"Look at the behemoth....(v15) ..his tail sways like a cedar (v17)"

Do you know what a cedar tree looks like? It's huge. This thing had a tail like a cedar tree. Traditionally Bible scolars believed that this was an elephant or hippo. But that is not a popular opinion anymore. The only animal that has a tail like a cedar is a DINOSAUR.

For all those people who doubt the inspiration of the Bible, read the book of Job from chapter 38. The Pleiades being bound, the hills and valleys of the see, the cords of Orion - none of these scientific facts were discovered until much later. The book of Job is one of the oldest books written.

As an ex-geologist, I'd say you find dinosaurs in the fossil record because they existed. Regardless of what the bible says, dinosaurs existed.
