Ironic as it sounds: the most effective way of getting over a broken relationship is not by forgetting it, but by accepting it.
In the field of psychology, there's this theory that acceptance comes last, after denial, anger, and negotiation. But that's the theory. The point is, talk is cheap (including mine). I can convince you to just accept it, but it won't work that way.
True acceptance will come in time, maybe after some denials, some angers, or some justifications. But if you reflect your relationship and come into the realization that yours was not going to work anyway (and not because denial, but because it's true), then in time, you'll feel in peace.
And you won't have to forget it. On the contrary, with true acceptance, you may meet him again by chance, and don't hold any grudge about your past relationship with him.

Try think of it as another lesson in life and if you are still friends keep it that way if your not just get out there and have a laugh with everyone I don't mean go find another boyfriend to get over your ex I mean have some you time go out partying, hang with your friends and just chill, cos you'll have plenty of time to and you'll enjoy every minute of it I know I am I'm having a blast.

You just have to go through the pain and hurt. If you try to pretend you are not feeling hurt or try to suppress it, it will surface again in your life somewhere down the road. You just need to get through those feelings until you are so exhausted of those feelings and then it will be easy to move on.... until then you should not look for another relationship...

Try to think of other things and if you can't ,just remember the negative side of him. think of a better future, who knows maybe you find your right person in near future.
