You can't see the curvature, We understand that the earth is curved due the distance ship when coming toward us we see first its top and slowly the other portion.

The full moon looks flat even though it is curved.

If earth were flat, there is no limit of distance to which we can see. Earth being curved we are not able to see beyond certain distance. But for us it looks only flat and not curved. Only by reasoning we understand that the earth is curved.

Yes....the visible horizon at sea level is around 26 miles if you are lucky enough to spot a ship just beyond that distance you will only see an upper portion of it as the remainder is on the curvature of the earth and hence out of sight.

My parents live right on the sea front and on a still, clear day you can see the curvature of the earth. It's very slight but it's deffo there. Or maybe it's just my eyes.

there is no such thing as perfectly flat. You can see the curve in the earth everywhere. When you look out to sea however its more evident.

well I would say yes... because of when you are looking out to sea.. you are seeing hundreds of miles on a clear day so why wouldn't you be able to see the curve?

If you are on the ocean you can see the curvature, but it is much more evident if you are on a mountain top.
