Actually we are one of the few nations that have the ability to take the piss out of ourselves - I saw one poster on here the other day who was complaining about a website making fun of C Ronaldo, but she obviously didn't get that the whole thing was tounge-in-cheek.

With respect...well now I just hate people who start with a qualifying statement and then rip you out.
We are most amusing as one of the other posts points out Black adder, Python, Hitchhikers, Red Dwarf, Mr Bean etc. et al.
As for not being as clever as we think....who invented Radar? satellites? the telephone? the steam engine, the light bulb? I could go on but I believe I made my point.
Why do Americans (I'm assuming that you hail from the states) think they are the best at EVERYTHING? certainly not football. (then neither are England)
