It depends what you mean when you say life if your reffering to the meaning of life on earth then well thats easy it is a huge lesson of hardship and learning and experience to purify your soul to the next plain of existance for earth is nothing but the world of illusion and physical body brain lungs etc means nothing its only a body that covers the true self with in the overself (spirit) and that is what matters all i can say is cherish the life you have be as good as you can give as much as you can and honest and you will do just fine.

life is here to understand ones self and the enviorment around us. we look out into the universe and noticed the vast expance of nature, but dont see where we fit into this enviorment. but one day down the line you discover somthing like a balance that is eternal and from that day forth you are the very center of all life. that to me has meaning. or if you discover that the earth is just one giant dinosaur, and no one on earth knows this except me and the people i have told. this is what gives my live meaning because now i have a purpose in life to teach people about the nature of the earth and where we are in the universe. we are the building blocks of life

I don't think people as a species are anything other than sophisticated animals. I don't believe in God, and am happy to believe life has no meaning beyond the biological imperatives that keep all species alive.
I think it is as the top dogs on this planet - the custodians - that meaning can be found - in how we conduct ourselves in these difficult times.
