A great FOOTBALL player needs skill, anticipation, vision, agility, speed, balance, strength, etc......................but to be truly great he also requires honour - some players could be greats but tarnish thier reputation by cheating. They also have to be smart and able to avoid pressures from outside the game.

Easy. Start playing as soon as you learn to walk. Spend every waking moment practicing. Get spotted by a talent coach for a big club and go and join them (leaving your family behind) aged 13 and then establish your superior talent over the other 10,000 people competing for your place in the team. Then you can do what most English premiership players do and buy 14 cars, 10 houses, a gambling / alcohol / drug habit and wear your knees out by the time you are 35.

To become a GREAT footballer you need to have:
Talent/Skills.
Excellent vision, anticipation and reading the match (on the field).
The ability to perform in BIG matches.
Consistency.
Winning mentality (won't give up).
Stamina (should last for at least 90 minutes).
Speed isn't that important, Some great players were kinda 'slow'.
