who do you think made the best play of all time in all of baseball history? Willie May's catch? Torii Hunter's catch of Barry Bonds in the All Start game? Aaron Rowand running into the wall at full speed? or Gary Matthews Jr. catch of Mike Lamb a few days ago?

I am a red sox fan but the play I will always remember is 2 by jeter. Jeter diving into the stands to cath the ball and jeters play at the plate when the throw homw was offline and he caught it and flipped it to posada for the out. amazing game sense and baseball reflexes

The Gary Matthews Jr. catch off of Lamb last week was an absolute gem. Probably not on the Top 5 but the best play I've seen in many years. Being an Astros fan I was just glad we were up big in that game.

First, they MUST be in the World Series ...

#3: Derek Jeter's (the Yankee) backhand flick of the poor outfield throw to get the runner at home.

#2: Pete Rose (the Phillie) catching Bob Boone's "muff" of a fly ball in foul territory - only Rose would make that play.

#1: Say Hey! Willie Mays' (the Giant) catch in the series over his shoulder and falling down to throw back to the infield. Beautiful, amazing, and little kid-like --- all in one!

Of course anything Torii Hunter does is great but anyone ever heard of Kirby Puckett? He made 2 great plays that decided the winner in the World Series. Rest in Peace Big Guy.

Derek Jeter's reverse flick to throw the runner out at home against the Oakland A's in the playoffs I forget the year.

Followed by Arron F$@#$ Boone's Homerun to end the series against Boston

My favorite is when Kevin Mitchell caught the fly ball with his bare hands. That was a great catch.

i cant remember who, or when, but i believe it was a game in the 60's at dodger stadium. and two men ran from the stands with a flag soaked in gasoline, and attempted to light it on fire. but the center fielder ran to it, and picked it up before they could disgrace the country.
