practice starting conversations with strangers
research overcoming shyness on internet
introduce yourself to others rather than waiting for
them to initiate contact
learn to give a solid handshake
learn to focus eye contact
improve your posture which can project confidence
and helps you acquire it

I would say alcohol but dont depend on it. You dont wana become an alcoholic. Just put yourself out there in a positive way and meet peolpe everytime you go out.
