I think it is because people (meaning kids) are rushing into it, they do not let themselves grow up before jumping into relationships. You need to grow up and discover who you are before you get involved with someone else. that's why all these young people are getting divorced. They get married only to discover that they really don't know who they are and they end up not wanting to be with the person they marry. puppy love is a crush on someone not true love

Because too many people enter into marriage with the thought of "well, if this doesn't work out I can always get a divorce"...which dooms the marriage from the beginning. No one takes marriage seriously anymore because it's not so difficult to get out of one. People are taking the vows, but they don't believe in the vows...it's just words to them.
Not all marriages are like this....mine isn't. Then again, my husband and I were serious about the vows we took.

It's a shame but its because of this "immediate gratification", "disposable" society we live in. You know..play the video games and get killed and we immediately hit 'start" and off we go again.
People have been taught not to really stick it out. If cars break down..trade em in. If a house gets too small.. sell it. etc. Why not fix the darn car or add on to the house? Its a way of thinking that most in society practice.
Im in it for the long haul! Ive been married for 20+ years and sure we have had our rough spots but those rough spots make it more of a triumph when we overcome them. I am so in love with my husband!

Marriage is like a violin because after playing the music, the strings are still attached. Thus, married persons stay with their partners because they are bonded by law as a contract or united permanently by religion. They can only be separated if annulment or physical separation happened as ordered by a court or by a priest if allowed

Many answers to this. The long and short of it is people do rush into it.
In addition, for women, it is more acceptable to be divorced in today's society, as the taboo has been lifted. Also, women are no longer depndent upon men to spport them, women has the capabilities of becoming financially independent from men.

yes, it no longer applies if u live in singapore. singaporeans are too restricted to do many things elsewhere can and this things if we persist can lead us to so called crime.
there is good but there is also bad side too.
the bad is, typically, marriage might fall apart as there r nothing exciting to do but to be discreet with his/her lover to spice up life.
