In general what is the oldest age a woman can physically have children. I am a single 40 year old male who has finally reached a secure enough position to begin considering a family and want to know what ages I should be considering.

Women can have children until they reach menopause. However, any pregnancy that occurs over the age of 35 is considered high-risk and will be closely monitored by the attending OB/GYN. The chances of birth defects increase somewhat after age 35 and increase dramatically after a woman reaches 40, although many women in the 40-45 age range do have healthy babies.
I would guess that a woman between the ages of 30-40 would be your best bet depending on how many kids you want to have. Of course, you could always consider adoption, there are lots of kids in need of a family.

Mean no hurt here, but at 40 which would have you been living in not to understand the human body and its functions, even tha basics. Any way a woman is ready to have a child as soon as she get her ovulation what we commonly call Monthly periods(Powerfull creation).Some girls get this as early as 12 yrs.
But for health reasons a girl child should be given time to grow and mature both physically and mentally. At 25 yrs if a lady is ready and prepared they can have a baby comfortably.For age forty like you i suggest a lady with an age close to yours wld do 30, 35 ONWARDS.

my friend had a healthy baby girl at the age of 45, i think it depends on how fit and healthy you are, i know people who have had problems at the age of 30 so, really i guess its up to you and how good a condition your body is in
