Try doing the following
- Change the SID (published name of router), and set it to be hidden.
- Enable security, 128 bit Wep should do.
- Set up access restrictions so that only specified MAC addresses can access the wireless router.
All the above can usually be done through a web based admin page, simply point your internet browser at the routers IP address.

WEP or WPA encryption is what you need. Have a look at the manual that came with your router.

Assuming you are using win XP.
Move your mouse over the network connection in your taskbar.
Right click and select VIEW AVAILABLE NETWORKS.
Select your network.
It is really is that simple.

Simple, you need to set a KEY.
like a password, its in the basic settings, 128bit KEY is strongest....
