I mean I think itss completly normal for two guys to kiss i dont think it would really matter to a kid. And as a parent would you not want you kid to grow up to be gay... if they did would u disown them?

Also reason this is important is because its a right you lose whenever you do acknowledge and admit your gay.

I asked the same question and they could come up only with religion.
Later I also read an answer where a guy said it's because he doesn't want his tax spent on gay family support.
The goverment's reason is that there would be fake marriages for the benefits. This is stupid because homosexuals would never let other people believe they are gay, and why is it more likely that two guys marry for benefits than a guy and a girl?
However, there can be a point that it risks the society's present structure. You know too politics don't like changes.
Anyway, I am for gay marriages.

People that are against gay marriage in 40 years will look like bigots. The issue is this is homosexuality a part of the human condition or is it just a random kink.
Christian extremist used the bible to endorse slavery, segregation, subordination of women, and now anti-homosexuality sediments.
In a free democracy this should not even be an issue people should be allowed to be who they are with out any intolerant bigots yelling at them when they feel yucky.

PS to Cavern
What it does to other people? How about spreading disease around? As a parent, I have to give explanation to my son witnessing two men kissing each other and holding hands at Disneyland. You don't think it affects other people?
A) Homosexuality and Heterosexuals are equal to blame for AIDS....... if that's what your trying to get at from diseases.
B) I know its a real tough job teaching your kid about different cultures, if you don't want to feel yucky about other cultures that don't agree with yours go live under a rock

Man does not like what he does not understand... and that's true of all the people who do not understand that people do not click a button or something and become gay, its just that nature has created them that way and that they are free to choose their sexuality.

Almost all religions decree homosexuality and i really do not understand why is it so? Is it because God chooses to differentiate amongst his own children OR is it because the people who interpret religion do not like to go against the so called "natural order of things".

At the end of it all i really don't see why we need to differentiate between our own kind just because their tastes and preferences are different. Man's prejudice and biasness has always brought his downfall in history and continues to do so in the present.

Personally i am all out for gay rights and i hope governments and leaders or the so called "decision makers" will realise that it is every person's right to be treated equally.

Freedom of religion and freedom of .. gay marriage have nothing in common. The President can't stop people from being gay or lesbian by not allowing them to marry. And he's definitely not stopping them from believing what they want. It's not oppression, not letting them marry....

I don't see the whole hype about gay marriage, though. People don't need to marry to show that they're commited to eachother. For people who are religious, they marry before they have children. But other than that, I don't see why gays or lesbians really want to marry. What will it accomplish? And could you really call it marriage?

The research that I have read shows that homosexuality is genetic and or caused by something that happens in the womb.

It is natural (10% of all humans) and it isn't hurting anyone.

It isn't your business about the nature of my adult consensual sexual relations.....and it isn't my business to worry about the same in gay relationships.

Additionally, within the U.S., it is already legal under the Constitution.

Laws made against it are unconstitutional, and driven by ignorance and bigotry

Why shouldn't gays be allowed by as unhappy as straights....let 'em get married.

:-p

There's no logic involved particularly, but you know what people are - many of them inherently dislike what they can't understand, and if it's not something that they'd be interested in themselves, they can't understand it. Sadly this often overrules the logic that says desire, love and marriage should be based on principles of equality, rather than restricted to one 'type' of sexuality. Like I said, no logic, no sense, but some people still feel that way.

It's just the Christianists trying to enact some form of Christian sheria law to make us all over in their own image.

Gay marriage or civil unions wouldn't do anything to them except annoy them.

Gay mariage is inherantly wrong. People are against it because it goes against the laws of nature. Oh, and it's pretty sick too.

Some people think God only loves people who fit their image. People should learn to mind their own business. If one has a belief, fine, but don't tell me how to live.
