is there a progrma that will tell me how much ram i amd useing or how much is available. so i know how much ram im useing on windows thank you

Hi there,
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del and then select the tab "Performance".
In the bottom right, there is a table called "Physical Memory". That will display the total amount of Kilobytes of RAM you have in your computer and the amount available.

Like the others said CTRL + ALT + DEL and under the performance tab will give you the amount of Kilobytes of ram you have.
I suggest going to your my computer icon, right clicking it and click properties in that menu and it should display all your necessary system information including ram which is located in the bottom section. It will show you how many Megabytes of ram you currently have installed on your computer.

If you're using Windows XP open the task manager it will tell you how much memory you have, and are using.

There is a program called CPU-Z that will show you detailed information about your CPU and RAM. Very good software...
