LOL!!!
I think it would make a smell. It stays in the air for a while, so if you take the plugs too soon or someone happens to pop in for a minute, then it would be very embarrasing!!
Try it anyway, see what happens!

If a tree falls in a forest alone does it make a noise - no it makes sound that is to say a noise is something one hears and sound is something generated.
Thus a fart is a scent and smell is your sense so the answer is no it does not make a smell it makes a scent
