Freedom, if you were paid in chickens instead of money you would have to trade several times to get a shirt. But money allows you to buy anything that is for sale. Letting you have the freedom of choice to buy what you wish.

"Money" is a uniform measure for barter. If people had to decide how many chickens to give a person for a shirt, then someone would feel cheated. Even now, I feel cheated when a shirt costs too much.
