Hello all,

Just need some advice. My husband bought me four skirts of different colors that I have been wanting for a long time, I got them for Mother's Day (they were on close-out for $3.75) so who could go wrong right? Anyways he got them for me at Target they run a little below the knee an are of a T-shirt or cotton type material, so they are very casual. They have asymetrical fabric giving it that "tattered" kinda the ragged sewn together look...almost gypsy-ish if you will.

My question is what top/s would work well with this kind of skirt considering how casual it looks and the fabric that it is? So what do ya think?

Any tips would be great--thanks and have a good one!!

Those skirts look great with something simple on top. If you're doing layering on the bottom, you need to make sure the top is minimal. I always wear those skirts with a sleeveless v-neck or with spaghetti straps.

You can also get away with wearing a plain white button-down shirt with no sleeves or slightly puffed sleeves.

Whatever you do, make sure the top is fitted.

Anything on this page would work:

Simple cotton camis (camisoles) are great for this type of skirt b/c they hug closer to the body, complementing the more voluminous look of the skirt. Close fitting t-shirts will also work. Another cute look is a cropped jacket in a light weight material, or denim.

Tops which are casual would do well, even short tees would do. Of course, do avoid the really raggedy-looking ones. Avoud buttoned shirts. A slightly fitted top with a little embroidery, sequins or something like that would be just perfect.
