I do want to be rich one day but sometimes feel really guilty when I see news coverage and programmes on TV of all the starving children and adults in Africa.

Every person has the need to be rich...

Some people believe that money can buy you happiness? and who doesn't want to be happy, but what about Bill Gates? He's got loads of money but ask yourself this: Have you ever seen him happy (I don't mean smiling - I mean happy!)

Hmm... I believe that I should have just enough to be sufficient.

Africa's problem isn't money! (I live in Africa - I should know!)
Africa's problem is people - too many uneducated, insuffiecient, people in one place! Nobody there thinks of the day of tomorrow or they're future - nobody builds and preserves and the rest of the world think that money is the answer!

If you give a hungry man a fish - he's got food for today... But teach a man to fish and he's got food for the rest of his life!

No it's not wrong, and you may think I'm wrong in saying that a lot of the starving children, and adults in Africa is self inflicted. If the Adults were to listen and understand birth control, and not listen to religious believes then they would be able to cure a lot of it themselves. I know I would do more for my kids by not having anymore if i was in their position.
You must also remember their are a lot of rich Africans that do nothing to help their own, so don't be guilty, and get rich.

well it's a human thing to desire.we always want something and even when u get it,u still want more.i don't thing it is wrong for u to wanna be rich, the is no reason u should be poor (live live below standards) because people around the world are starving(don't think i am greedy or don't care about those kids in africa cuz i am african myself)it won't helpthem in anyway if you were poor.the thing is if you care and ou get rich, just do the right thing ,give something back by helping them.that way everyone wins,u are rich and they got food or whatever kind of helpthey need(even though it won't be enough for every one,u would have made a diffence)

It is not bad to be rich as long as you reach out to those who are starving in Africa. You can share your money by donating to reliable organizations like the UN so that you cannot be guilty of just enriching yourself and enjoying a sumptuous life while others are dying of hunger. Few people like you ever think of those in Africa. Keep it up.

while the situation in africa is awful.. you have no reason to feel guilty if you where to become rich... the main problem is the government of africa not sorting their country out... they sit in their palaces driving mercedes while the people starve... so who should feel guilty... simple answer for a happy life is to stop watching the tv and reading the papers.. then you wont know what goes on out there..... not that you could do anything about it anyway...because who guarantees the money you donate goes to mr sarpong at mud hut no23.....

It is definatly not wrong to want to be rich, look at it this way. If everybody was poor then there would be nobody to make donations to the poor. Also it is human nature to want to become stable and provide a good standard of living for a the family and parents when they grow older...

You could become rich, and then, try to help the starving people of Africa. (The best of both situations.) The solution to starvation in Africa isn't feeding the people, but rather, teaching them to feed themselves, or moving them to areas more conducive to farming.

Bob Geldorf is rich but he is only giving a small amount of money. The really valuable thing this he is giving is his time and his voice and we can all do that whether we are rich or poor.

It is likely that lots of small contirbutions probably come to more than the big ones.

The reason people in those countries are starving is because of a lack of education. If you have a goal to help educate these people when you get rich, then I pray for your success.
