Yeah, we do suck.
But saying that every generation before us has done pretty crummy also, (heavier drug usage and gang violence in the 80s and 70s, parading of dead bodies in the street during many revolutions, blah blah blah) I'm okay.
I mean, honestly, just because we have more things in our life to be idle all day long doesn't mean we're that horrid. (Although, gentlemen in the Victorian age for example idled and did nothing all day long also.) I'm not saying that we're in our Golden Ages, but we're not doing that bad either.
Well, yeah we're doing pretty bad, but it's nothing nature can't really help.
Although, I think society is pretty artless right now.
EDIT:
Well, hah, it hasn't been very artsy since before the 1900s. That's when the focus on beauty really declined. Atleast we have music though.

2nd Timothy chapters 3 and 4 (from the Bible) are all over this... It's not technology doing the blinding... Oh yes, I agree with your name as well... Zeppelin INDEED rocks...! (Can play a lot of their stuff...! Prefer Jimmy's studio work to his muscle-flexing live action, though...) =)

i think what is wrong in this generation is that we tend to abuse what we have. Technology is a good thing but using it in abusive ways is somewhat detrimental for the future generation.

"See the kids... they listen to the rap music. With the hippin' and the hoppin' and the bippin' and the boppin'... they don't know what the jazz is all about.
See jazz is like Jello Pudding, or Kodak, or like New Coke... it will be around forever."
