An intranet is usually a closed network that is used within a company or corp. It isn't for public access and all users are given their passwords etc by a system admin who also watches over the whole thing.

Internet is a collection of many small networks, intranets, single systems , companies the list goes on and it is open to the general public for access.

internet is like when u r surfing the pages on the net like chatting mailing and or surfing other websites.....and INTRANET IS YOUR LOCAL NETWORK like the systems in domain in your network area.....like workgroup..
