I'm so sorry for your loss. I understand how you must feel. I had rabbits and a guinea pig and when they got old and died, it was really hard on me too. So don't worry that you feel like this, you're not the only one. It's a natural and understandable situation to feel this way. But you shouldn't be so hard on yourself, you need some rest, you need to sleep and understand that where there's life, there's death...it's just how it is. It sucks, I know...but hey, take good care of yourself so you can be healthy and strong enough to raise a new rabbbit...not as a replacement but as a new friend...Hope you feel better soon and Take Care!

I have a black Lop Eared Dwarf rabbit now as a pet and I had a Rex before that. When my previous rabbit died, I was pretty sure it was my fault because about a day or two before she died she tried to jump out of my hands and landed on the kitchen floor on her side. I think she broke some ribs because she was limping after that. I think it caused internal bleeding. I totally blamed myself for it. Maybe that will make you feel better, knowing that you probably had nothing to with his/her death. Just think about what he/she's doing in bunny heaven right now, if you believe in stuff like that. Don't get too down.

My son's pet rabbit died a few months ago and he was very sad. I know what you are going through. Just know that your rabbit is in a happy place. He is with other bunnies running free and eating all the food they want. They are playing and having a great time.

Either bury the rabbit or send it to a vet to find out why it died (autopsy). It's a good idea to find out why it died in case the rabbit died of something that was preventable. You don't want the same thing to happen again if it is preventable.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. i had my bunny for 9 years when she finally passed away. she was my baby and i was so sad, i think i cried for like 2 weeks! i think you should definitely talk about your feelings with someone close to you and don't be afraid to mourn. it's normal to not sleep well so just try to relax doing something comforting and familiar and do the best you can, it will get better! also we held a bunny burial with my family and then i had a local headstone company make a small square headstone from some scrap granite. it turned out so beatiful and it really made me feel better, like i had some closure- it was totally worth every penny! (about $70) also, i believe our bunnies are in heaven and we will see them again. Hope this helps, you have my deepest sympathy.

take your time to mourn, but remember the good things. Don't make it sad. Celebrate it's life. Then do what you need to do to move on...just don't dwell on it forever. He/she wouldn't want you to. :)
