We need them to keep us informed, they just need to tell it like it is, not their opinion.

We need to pray because many of the important issues are not being told right now. At 16 I learned that journalism was the key to the media and it should always show the facts in an unbiased way. I think now with the commercialization of television media, journalism has gone down almost to the point of tabloids.

Some journalism is okay but some journalist don't think about the people affected by the situation. Like my friend's sister was shot to death along with a few other people in a house robbery and they put stuff she said right before they shot her that was told by the survivor. I think that stuff tears up the families. It should be left out of the paper. Parents and siblings don't wanna read about that stuff when they first wake up. I think somethings should just be left unsaid.

Without good journalism, we wouldn't have an informed public. In a closed society without open journalism, the people are more susceptible to rumor-mongers.

In the U.S. recently, the press has not been effectively upholding their role of antagonist to the power of government.

They have failed to actively educate us about the biggest issue, the truth about the rotten road that the federal government was been running us down for a couple of decades now (if not more).

The fed' gov' is bankrupting us and our many generations of citizens to come.

The fed' gov' has also replaced true patriotism, a respect for the ideals contained in the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights with the worship of vacuous slogans and icons.
(reminds me of Germany in the late 30s)

And where has the press been during this devolution?
Cheerleading for these political varmints and their corporate overlords?

Not a pretty or noble state for the press of this once great country to be in.

I'm saddened by the press' lack of moral fortitude and humanistic concern.

:-(

A journalist has a job of reporting what he wants you to know filtering and changing facts...OR he can leave his personal feelings out of the news and report exactly what is happening...so many writers now days think they can influence the readers with their beliefs...and bend things this way and that way to suit themselves or the companies they work for. It would be so refreshing to read an honest piece that has not been overworked and strained by a journalist who has his own interest at heart and not the readers..

Journalism is a must for both readers as well as writers. I truly believe better journalists are not biased nor opionated but rather critical writers.

I hate the fact that, when referring to Bill, they write "President Clinton", but when referring to George, they write "Mr. Bush". Most journalists/reporters are incredibly biased. Their role is to report the facts, not express their opinion in the form of snide remarks and political soundbytes.
