With respect to the internet mechanics, you will need to have server space from which to opperate your site. Most likely, you will lease that server space from a server farm or other web-hosting company.

With respect to the hyper-text aspect of the site, there are several companies who will design the site for you. Also, there is software on the market which you could use to design the site, although that is risky unless you already possess a fair ammont of experience in design and upkeep. If you want to make a simple mock-up to take with you to the company you hire for desing, it should be easy to use Word or a similar program to create it for later reference.

I had an old word processor then one of those monster computers that only made cheesy graphics and played silly games. My first 'real' computer was a Compaq and it had all the bells and whistles for its day ... that was fourteen-plus years ago. I felt right at home on it almost immediately. I'm not a read-the-manual-first person... I have to get my hands onto a new project, toy, machine, appliance, etc... as soon as I can. I'll refer to manuals or to learning tools if and when I need them and of course, in due time as I wanted to become more fancy and actually know what things were called, etc... I decided to break out the book. But I always found the Internet as a personal li'l Narnia for me. It wasn't in a wardrobe but on my desk in the living room ... still ... I powered that puppy up and felt like I had the world, and words words words and people people people right there at my fingertips and ya know what? It hasn't ever lost its magic for me in many ways. I've just learned to be a bit more cautious with fellow-users is all.
