Of course it hurts.
How much it hurts depends on your pain tolerance.
Go to a reputable shop and get it done right. there should be no problem.
Keep it clean and follow the peircer's after care instructions, you should have no problems.
I cant tell you how much it will hurt because I have a very high pain tolerance, my peircings didnt hurt at all. there was a sensation .. but it wasnt pain .. not overly pleasurable.. but not painful either.

Not really. It's not much worse than getting your ears pierced, though it's psychologically a little bit more freaky to have somebody pierce you in your belly area than your ear (well, at least from my personal experience). A little shot of vodka right before helps a lot!

Just be sure that the piercing is done with sterile needles and by a good piercing artist, and that you disinfect the area frequently for at least a week or two after that. An infection after the piercing is so much more painful than gettin pierced per se. My friend had the unfortunate experience of getting her belly-button piercing infected which took over half a year to heal.

Hope you'll love your piercing and that you'll have no complications!

I have had my navelpierced, the pain is not really intense, its quite blunt and last about max 3seconds, u wont even guess that its done with a needle but expect bleeding. The important thing is to keep it clean afterwards but it shud never be sore after that first day. It takes about 4mnths for the piercing to "heal". When changing the jewel later, its unbelievably painless.

The initial stick hurts, but then it's not too bad. You do have to take good care of it or it will get infected and that is what is going to give you the most pain.

They usually apply some medicine at the site to make it numb. However, it all depends on how sensitive one is to pain.
