No back, just a bench to sit on. The seat is part of a recycled futon frame and a cushion. It just needs legs.

I tried stacking block columns, but they're not the right size, and the seat rocks and isn't steady. I need to attach seat to base.

you will need to build a frame with 2x4 s, measure the seat, this is the size your fram will be,screw 4 2x4 s togather to form a rectangle, then add 4 legs (how ever tall you want it to be) then add a2x2 brace in between each leg ( half way between seat & floor) paint it or stain & you can sit & rest

Home Depot sells the legs to attatch your seat to. I think its in the lumber dept

cheap way: Two concrete bricks, one at each end.
more money: Buy some legs from Home Depot.
