Are there children involved? IF so, then call in to work let them know you are out due to a sick spouse and you must take care of the household duties i.e. the kids so you spouse can get better. No children, then go to work.

Yes as long as she is really sick and you have children to take care of. Ive done the same thing with my job, my husband was sick and he couldnt take care of them. I wouldnt push my luck if you have a really strict supervisor, my job isnt really strict so it was okay for just one day as long as you tell the honest truth. Though everyone does play hookie now and then theyll probably think youre not telling the truth. Either way you do what you think is best for your wife or girlfriend!

Sick, like had surgery or was totally unable to care for themselves or sick with the flu or a cold....if it is not a serious illness, go to work.
