What are they? They are legion and diverse and must be destroyed. Water is a breeding ground for all kinds of "little bugs" from bacteria to mosquitos. Really, its a lot like making a good pot of chili: add your ingredients into the pot, mix them up, add heat and wait. The longer you wait the more rich your reward.

Recently I made the mistake of going underwater in a jacuzzi tub for a few seconds. A week later I was handed two antibiotic prescriptions after getting an antibiotic injection in my rear end and being told to go to the ER the next day for an antibiotic drip if the infection that had begun in my left ear and was spreading to the rest of my head did not stabilize. All because of those little bugs. Gotta love 'em.

Eww. Thanks to the first responder for telling us that. I never would have thought to not put my head underwater in a jacuzzi. Not that I have that many chances to. And I think it's called: algae? I thought that was a mixture of bacteria and plant matter, though. I could be wrong, now.
