When will yahoo! actually take control of the monster they have created (answers)?

Question

Have you seen some of the crap that people are asking? This is becoming a forum of crap... anyone agree?

When I say crap - let me give an example - "What is the best way to hurt my baby without him screaming?" Ok - that is the crap I mean....

SO - Yahoo has unleashed this monster - with questions like the above - how can they police these kinds of things or should they? Would it be censorship or common sense?

There are questions/answers that:
1) look to incite, get attention
2) provide misinformation (i.e. I got this on Yahoo answers - I didn't know a knife was sharp - possible liability to Yahoo! or the answerer)
3) many other scenarios - do not want to post a big blog with my question...

Maybe you feel they shouldn't police it at all... whatever... say that - but what problems do you think could arise... or tout your feeling on freedom of speech or morons with keyboards.... whatever goes...

If Yahoo! Answers is the crap of the Internet, then we're the butt holes that are crapping into it.

Some are bad, some are good, some are funny. If there was no bad, would you know what good was? If they were all good, then this would be a dull FN place for geeks. Ok, so some peoples' sense of humor sucks. I might think yours does and say you ask bad questions. It's all in the opinion. The worst, however, is when people are attacked for asking the same question you just asked. Like me when I first started on answers. Sweety, some things can't be changed, so just look for the good ones and leave the bad alone. My advice, take it or leave it. Hope that helps you some.

I've noticed that there is a time of day when the majority of the questions and answers are arcane and a time when they are more intelligent. I think this site is a good (sad?) reflection of the world and so they will not change it. My philosophy (and people got offended by this...but I am a very fair and observant person) is that the people on here from 9am to 4pm (I'm in the Eastern Standard Time Zone) are a majority of bored, silly, rude or fickle..but regular people of course are intersperced there. Earlier in the morning and later in the day you get a better representation of people who are crap-free. Check my theory! It helps me know what to expect.

Yea but at least Im not talking to robot sex ads and nothing but arabic on the screen. Now that is a monster.Chat rooms are forever ruined and is nothing but crap and terroist communications device.Here you can get some good stuff and Ive met more people.

Different strokes for different folks.What may be absolutely fascinating to one person is complete and utter frivolity to another.
Just look for the stuff you are interested in.
Its like life you got dig through some crap sometimes to get to the good stuff.

I am personally a fan of answers. Some of the questions are awesome and make you think others are not worth my time. That's the joy of it all you get to pick and choose your interest.

yes there is a lot of crap but there is a lot of good stuff on here also. its helpful sometimes. its also very interesting at times. i think its worth it. its also a good way to waste some time.

There is a report abuse tab for every question and answer received, use it, they are monitoring, I use it and questions are usually gone in under 30 minutes.

Yahoo answers has become very sad...people really dont answer questions here they just mock people
