Definitely. Just look at the World Cup and the number of fans that have come from every corner of the planet. Other sports may talk about having a world cup but football is the only sport that has a truly global reach.

Yes to me it is... I had no interest in the Stanley Cup Finals...

I think its more interesting to watch... I think the most coolest thing is when a player slides in with speed and grace and takes the ball away without even touching the other player.. some of them do it and its "smooth like butter"

In the German team in 2002 there was a defender named Carsten Ramelow, he was tall with these long powerful legs and he like glided when he ran and he would do that with such grace.. they had just banned that taking the ball from behind so he got a red card in one game for it.. But he was so graceful to watch in a tackle.
Reminds me a little of Cannavaro, Cannavaro can slide a ball right out for under another player's feet... he is so smooth.
some of these guys pull off some fancy footwork... impressive..

Yes it has become popular and the prime reasons for it is mass media and excellent players allround

nah.i doubt it.its just d temporary craze.once d world cups over, every1 wil go back 2 watchin cricket,tennis n all d stuf dey lyke.only d true football fans'll watch d clubs matches
