Many, many years ago I was an assistant mgr in a fast food restaurant. I'd just sent two people home because business slowed down to a crawl.
I had one cashier and one cook.
Not long after....I looked out the window and Lo and Behold a charter bus pulled up and people came pouring out.
I ran to the office semi hysterical and told the store mgr...."Jeff, a bus....a bus "

Jeff smiled and said "How do you eat an elephant?"
I said "What?"
he said "One bite at a time.....now go help front line and I'll work back line"

and we did it....one person at a time.

Now, working 9-1-1.....you prioritize.
If you have four fireworks complaints and one man with a gun call---guess where all the officers are going???
You got it---the man with a gun call gets priority. The folks complaining about the fireworks will have their calls answered as soon as I have an officer free.

what can I say???....I love my job
