First find out if these are hormone related, or something else. If hormones, talk to your Dr about changing your meds.
I get migraines once/week, and I've tried ALL things. Currently, I find taking amatypteline at nigth works great as a preventor. However, once I get a headace, any kind, I rush and take 2 Excederin tablets, and it usually holds me off until I get home or the headache will start to go away.
Try drinking a soda with caffiene. That helps some folks. Tiy may want to see a chriopractor, as well. I see mine ocassionally when needed.
Also, you may want to seek out headache centers (I think Pittsburgh and Chicago have them) and they can help find out what's going on.
Good luck!

Have you tried prescription imitrex? Home remedy: OTC
800mg ibuprofen with a strong cup of coffee and an ice pack
or just dunk your head in a tub of ice water....just kidding
Caffeine helps with pain in conjunction with a OTC pain med for
mild pain to moderate....doesn't do much for a real true migraine.
Or it could be a tension headache ...or
it could be tons of things...such as a hormonal imbalance, eating
a food that triggers your headaches....or something more serious
Find a good doctor that will help you. I hate to say the "stress"
word but even if the cause is stress your pain is real and should
be treated appropriately.

While the underlying reasons art clear, certain minerals , particularly magnesium, calcium, and iron, appear to play a role in preventing and easing migraine and tension headaches. Also fresh ginger has been know to assist in easing headaches. The suggested amount is 1/3 teaspoon according to Dutch researchers.
Good Luck

try relaxation excercises. Meditation, yoga, Pilates etc... Also, put an ice pack on the back of your neck and put your feet in hot water. It will draw the blood away from your head and is useful for migraines etc. **note: this is not to be tried if you have blood pressure problems or circulation problems**

yes, definitely keep hydrated. a lot of people suffer from dehydration headaches and have no idea!
try massage therapy if possible. it could be that the fascia around your skull is really tight. if you wrap your hair around your finger and pull, does it release the pressure?
also, do you have any other symptoms? you could even have something random like a food allergy, without knowing it. have some bloodwork done if possible.
good luck! I really wish you the best!

There is an area between your thumb and index finger. In the groove please rub this area for tension release. If it hurts in any area where you rub...this is a sign that you have the right pressure point. Keep rubbing and you should be able to clear up those headaches. If these headaches are continuous please see a doctor because it might be serious.

When I get a bad migraine I lay in a dark, quiet room and use lavender and menthol oils and lotions. This works pretty well.

first, have the doctor ask you to go for a scan? if not, its time, its no joke to be having constant pain. maybe you are sensitive to light, take a notebook with you and write down when the pain comes in and when it goes... study it and it might help you manage your pain. the other alternative is go for pain management course.... good luck!
