I just bought ipod nano and hooked it up to my macbook.?

Question

Everytime I try to sync with my macbook, i get a popup asking if I want to update software. When I click yes, I am told software is up to date, but do I want to restore? When I click yes. It reboots my ipod and keep asking the same question. It is brand new Ipod and I am getting frustrated..

dont update click no we used ipod nanos at my school with ibook g4's and it asked us this all the time
