The word is edema and the nurse was right keep drinking water all that is going to do is to help flush toxins out of your body, when you retain water it slows your circulation and makes it harder for your body to function as normal ( i.e. removing waste from your blood) so drink water and elevate your feet that always helps me mom when her feet swell.

It is normal to experience swelling of your hands and feet during pregnancy due to fluid retention.
However, if you are also experiencing dizziness or headaches along with your swelling, you need to let your doctor know asap. You may have a condition called 'toxemia' which is form of pregnancy hypertension. If so, it's important to have it treated asap possible, and increasing your water intake will not help cure it.

NO IT'S NOT BAD TO DRINK MORE WATER!!!
The reason WHY your feet/hand are swollen is because you are retaining water AND poor circulation!
Elevate your feet above your heart!
Drinking more water HYDRATES YOU. Is better for YOU and YOUR BABY!!!

no I know drinking water is really healthy for you regardless and especially for your baby and no there is no consequence to drinking a lot of water except you'll have to pee but that's good for you to flush out all the bad toxins but if your going to drink water make sure its filtered and and not bottled because plastic is not good for you or your unborn baby..

yes, just keep drinking the water and doing what she tells you. my sister-in-law had serious water gain and bloating towards the end of her pregnancy and even after delivery! it goes away, so don't worry.
