ok i got a divorce from my ex husband two years ago. we got joint custody he has primary custody. now than i have twins that live with me. i go to school full time. currently im not working b/c i only have daycare from 6am to 6pm and would only be able to work daytime shifts certain days of the week. anyways i was ordered to pay 100.00 of child support a month which is not alot for 3 kids but right now i recieve 185.00 from the state for child support for my twins that live with me now and thats it for a month. i have explained my situation to the child support agency here in tn and in ala where he lives now my child support has gone up. they told me they could send it through court again and that it would be pushed up to a higher amount. my problem is im unable to do anything about paying child support until i can graduate and get a real job what can i do to fight this? i have wrote to our congressman he tried but it didnt work. i cant afford a lawyer. they r threating jail time. HELP

Go fast to a lawyer whom your local department of human services recommends. You've got to have legal advice and there is usually free legal advice from DHS. Any answers on this site might hinder rather than help you as we don't know the law where you live. And the laws vary from state to state. The best of luck to ya'.

Why did you get pregnant again??? That was pretty stupid if you can't support the 3 you have!! Havent you heard of birth control???I don't understand people!! You'll have to get a lawyer, some of them work for free if you can't afford one look into it.

You will definitely need legal help here. Maybe you can get some legal aid? Some states you can get free legal assistance when you can show financial need. These situations are common, but nobody seems to want to do anything about it.

my son just turned 18 so my child support is soon to be a memory. contact your local social services or child support agency. sometimes, they get caught up in numbers of dollars they collect, not how much is appropriate in what situations. good luck to you.
