McCartney, as he could play guitar, bass, piano, and drums. Even Lennon has said in interviews, that he is the artist of the band, and Paul is the "musician" of the band.

My favorite Beatle is Lennon, however I think the best all around musician would have to be George Harrison. That man rocked the guitar like no other!

Lennon. George was crazy on guitar, Paul nice voice ... but Lennon had the rocker voice, guitar, piano, quick wit ... whoof. Songwriting is the big test, and Macca was a lightweight by comparison, John had the deep soul touch.

John played guitar, George was a world class guitarist who is just now getting props for it. Paul on the other hand plays guitar, bass, piano, organ and drums and probably more and plays them proficiently as evidenced on his latest solo recordings making him the better all around musician.

well i think paul mcartney was and is the best all around musicisn from the beatles! because he plays guitar, drums,piano,keyboard and writes the music of the songs as well as the lyrics of the songs! he also has a great voice and has had the most success of all the beatles!!!!

Best musician (though it tears my heart out) was probably Paul. His bass grooves are AMAZING as are his turns at keyboards and guitar and his vocal are decent. ZYes, Sir Paul get my vote for best musician...
