You can buy a good quality map from landmark in spener plaza. India tourism offic opposite to the spenser plaza will have free maps to hand out ( with out pin codes)

Buy a TTK map. Gives you streetwise numberwise details. Also good classification. Costs Rs. 150 (about 9 months ago...)
Available at all good book shops. I bought one at Land Mark, Nungambakkam Main Rd...
