people are materialistic, they think more means better when in reality, they will only want more and more and more and never be better or acheive happiness. The media also has an influence here, especially TV. People want what they see on tv and will not stop until they get it. tv shows say how great a product is and then have famous people recommend it which makes viewers interested and then want to buy that product or what ever it is to feel as if they are in fashion or in style

I beleive that we buy mainly on impusle. For the excitement. Our economy makes it out that if we dont buy the newest things that we are goin to be left behind. We are alawsy looking for an up grade no matter the cost. We may need it or it just may disapear into an attic or the back of our closets. Who knows. I dont really buy much stuff for myself. I mainly buy for my kids but every time that I see something new I wantto get it for them and 9/10 times I do. They dont need it. Every year before Christmas my husband and I throw away boxes of toys just to have even more after the holidays.

Greed.

They think success in life means owning a lot of crap, when what it really means is helping others, achieving personal peace and happiness, and finding real love and friendship. And all of those things are priceless...
