well.. being that the city has over 10million pplz.. and the 3rd most populated city in the world.. i would expect there to be crime .. but what city doesn't .. anywayz.. i found that maybe 1 person spoke english well enough in every area i went to.. (ex) grocery store, market, mall, movies.. ect.. so no.. not many speak it.. "i find" but they are very friendly peoplez.. and will most likely try to help.. but still.. if you have no working knowledge of portuguese.. it could be quite difficult.
i personally wouldn't travel anywhere by myself.. but many do it.. just be cautious of course.. especially at night.. ! dont draw attention to yourself .. especially walking alone.. and hold your camera infront of you.. not on the side incase someone runs up and grabs it.. i have not yet experienced any crime problems.. but always good to play safe
have you been to Salvador, Bahia ?? BEAUTIFUL !
oh yea.. if you haven't already.. eat at Fogo De Chao

It is safe, but as in any large city, you just have to be careful. Do not manipulate money in public, keep your wallet hidden, don't go to isolated places alone. But you already knew that... Those advices are the same for New York or Moscow. I live here for almost five years now and I really recommend the visit. Unfortunately, you will have some trouble if you don't speak Portuguese, so try at least to learn some basics in one of those language books for tourists.

Moscow is one of many biggest cities in the world. Is just a city that's grown quickly in recent ages, and, consequently, comprises high-rise suburbs bordering a comparatively small traditional center with lots of amazing ancient architecture. The most crucial host to Moscow is the Red Square that's been for generations, one's heart and soul of Russia. Here, you are able to look at the Century St. Basil's Cathedral, one of the very most famous bits of structure on the planet and the constructivist pyramid of Lenin's Mausoleum. Red Square is surely a wealthy place in symbols of Russia's turbulent and stimulating past.

after you get out of the international aiport is hard to find people that speak English, and it is not as dangerous as you might think.
São Paulo is a business city, with a lot of good neighborhoods.
you should go, you will find a way to communicate, people like to help.

Generally speaking, you need to watch what you are doing in any big city.
There is nothing extra bad about this city.
